Nobody is a “born kisser”. It’s an acquired skill that everyone has to learn. The problem with trying to become a good kisser is that you can only learn “on the job”. There’s no way to practice making out without actually doing it with another person. To make things a little easier for you, here are some basic making out tips that you can incorporate into your skill set.

Set the right mood – If you’re new to kissing and making out then chances are so is your partner. You can ease the tension a bit by doing a little preparation to set a romantic mood. Dim the lights and light some candles. There’s nothing more romantic than the soft glow of candlelight and seeing those tiny little flames flickering. Put on some soft, soothing music. It may seem corny but music really does alter a person’s mood, so instead of some kind of loud, bass pumping jams try some light jazz, something like Kenny G. And make sure your place is neat! Nobody wants to start making out while laying on top of your dirty laundry! This is the easiest making out tip to accomplish. There is no reason not to do it.

Good hygiene – This one is a no-brainer but often gets overlooked. Brush your teeth! Making sure you have a clean, fresh mouth is essential before a make out session. Use a minty mouth wash after brushing too. Take a shower and use deodorant and perfume/cologne (but not too much, just a small amount). Make sure your hair is clean and styled and that your skin is as clean and smooth as you can get it. Clean clothes that have a nice pressed look to them will help too, but that’s secondary to the bodily hygiene stuff.

Study body language – If you want to know what the other person is really thinking, its a good idea to pay attention to their body language. What they communicate with their body will tell you things that they may never put into words. Look for telltale signs that they are interested. Things like are they leaning into you, listening intently or are they leaning back away from you? Is your partner a girl playing with her hair? If so, how is she playing with it? If she’s sitting there twirling it around her finger over and over again it may be a sign that she’s bored. If she’s brushing the hair from her face and tucking it behind her ear then she may be interested in you seeing her whole face or making sure nothing’s in the way for your lips. There are tons of visual cues that you can pick up on if you pay attention. Search the web for more body language info.

Learn some massage – A lot of people think they are good at giving a massage, but the truth is that most aren’t. The classic mistake is to push or squeeze too hard or in the wrong areas. Take a class or get a professional massage yourself and ask the masseuse for tips. You just need to know how to massage the shoulders and maybe the back and arms. Anything else really isn’t pertinent to making out. Massage is a really sensual act and if you can do it right it will help relax the other person and make an intimate connection between the two of you.

These four making out tips are relatively simple but will really improve your chances of having a successful make out session. You might have to put in a little work learning body language and massage but it will be worth it. You will learn skills that are useful in many situations, not just for making out. If you have any other making out tips, I would love to hear them. Leave them in the comments section below.

It usually takes a while before you get really comfortable with making out and kissing. The good news is that it’s lots of fun practicing! Seriously though, the best way to become a better kisser is to practice, practice, practice. It helps if you are in a relationship with someone so you can make out more often. Even then, sometimes you feel like you’re in a rut, just going through the motions. If this ever happens to you, that means it’s time to shake things up a little and try something new.

Gently bite your kissing partner’s lip. It’s not even really a bite, just take their lip in your teeth and apply just enough pressure so that you can sort of stretch their lip out a little tiny bit. Tug on it a little, then let it go. This is a pretty intimate thing to do and it can come off one of two ways – it can signal that your partner is very comfortable with you for allowing you to do this or it can send signals that you want to be a little bit rough. Either one is fine, but you should be prepared to back off if your partner reacts negatively.

Take a break from kissing on the mouth and kiss your partner’s neck (or shoulders, the inside of the elbow, back, etc.) A person’s skin can be very sensitive and the sensation of wet lips and/or tongue on certain areas can be very arousing. It’s most natural to move from kissing the lips to the neck. Gently lick one spot, kiss it, run your tongue over it. Then gently suck on it – but not too hard and not for too long. This is how you give someone a hickey and if your partner isn’t ready for that you don’t want to leave a mark. If you really want to spice things up, deliver some gentle kisses to the back of the neck and shoulders. For a more intimate session, move even further down the body.

The ears and earlobes can be especially sensitive to warm breath and a wet tongue. Slowly exhale warm air into your lover’s ear. Then slowly move your wet tongue over the ear. Don’t stick your tongue into the ear – that’s gross! Suck on the earlobe and maybe even whisper some words of love into their ear.

As you can see, there are a lot of things you can do while you make out. There’s no need for things to ever get boring and you shouldn’t have to get stuck in a specific routine. Feel free to experiment with different techniques and talk with your loved one about what they liked or didn’t like. Open communication is vital to a healthy relationship. Remember the cardinal rules of making out – go slow, be gentle and HAVE FUN!

So you want to learn how to make out, but have no idea what to do once you’re with that special person, right? Well, when most people think about “making out”, they think of the french kiss. It’s a staple of make out sessions everywhere and is synonymous with the term make out. It’s also referred to as soul kiss, tongue kiss, sucking face, swapping spit, and many other various slang terms.

You can see people french kissing on TV and in movies all the time, but until you do it yourself it’s hard to understand exactly what you need to do or how to do it well.

You need practice, but the only way to practice is by doing it! Unless you have a really good friend that’s willing to practice with you and it won’t ruin your relationship, you’re just going to have to read and prepare as best as you can for when the moment arrives that you actually get to kiss someone for real.

I’ve done some research online and can’t find exactly why it’s called “French kiss” in the first place. But that just makes it more mysterious and interesting! Ok, let’s get started.

As with any type of kissing, you need to make sure your partner is OK with what you’re doing or about to do. Wait until you’re really comfortable with each other and in a quiet, intimate moment before you attempt this kiss. And remember the rule that was discussed in previous posts, go slow! Don’t just jam your tongue into their mouth and wiggle it around like crazy. There may not be any one right way of doing it, but that is definitely the wrong way to do it!

You should probably wet your lips a little, but make sure they’re not too wet and slobbery. Press your lips against your partner’s and start with some light, regular kisses. When you feel like it’s the right time, open your lips a little while you continue to kiss normally. This will be a signal to your partner that you want to move on to more advanced kisses. If they respond and open their lips too, then you have been cleared for takeoff!

Gently extend your tongue out of your mouth (just a little bit at first!) and lick their lips a little. Extend it further into their mouth and touch their tongue with it. Curl it around theirs, caress their tongue with yours, etc. Always remember to retract your tongue back into your mouth in regular intervals and take a breath and swallow. You don’t want to suffocate or drown your partner!

Hopefully your partner will be doing these same thing back to you, so you just need to find a rhythm and keep doing it. Usually one person takes the lead, just like in dancing. A lot of times it the male in the relationship, but not always. Combine these techniques along with the ones mentioned previously and you will be an expert french kisser in no time!

Now that you already know the basics of how to make out, it’s time to expand on that a little bit and discuss what else you can do while you are kissing your partner. It would be very unnatural to just stand there with your arms at your side while playing tonsil hockey!

To enhance the experience you should use your hands to caress your partner’s face, run your fingers through his/her hair and maybe even grope other parts of their body. A lot of this will depend on what type of relationship you have with your kissing partner. If this was a second or third date, you probably shouldn’t grope too much (unless this is just a one-night stand type thing, but if you were having a one-night stand you probably aren’t reading a website looking for pointers about how to kiss, right?)

One of the easiest, most natural things you can do with your hands while kissing is to simply hug the other person and slowly rub your hands around on their back and shoulders. You can move on to the sides of their body, squeezing gently at certain points. This helps give a feeling of intimacy and closeness, while still not invaded his/her space too much if the relationship isn’t ready for heavier action just yet.

Take a few seconds to back away from kissing and cup your partner’s face in your hands and admire it. Study the shape of the lips and nose, feel the soft cheeks, look into their eyes, then dive back into deep kisses. If it’s early in a relationship, this type of behavior might be where it stops. But if you’re ready to move on to more advanced making out techniques, read on!

Many couples use making out as a lead-in to sex, so you begin by simple kissing and gradually progress, as things get hotter and more passionate, to sex. One way to get the blood pumping is by using your hands during kissing to caress your partner’s body. Grab and squeeze his or her butt, maybe even spank it lightly. If your partner is a woman, cup her breasts and give them gentle squeezes. Run your fingers over the nipples to arouse her.

Ran your hands along your partner’s crotch area to really get things hot and heavy. Experiment with grasping your partner’s hands in yours and putting your hands over your head, giving a slight feeling of bondage and being trapped.

As I stated earlier, a lot of what you will do during your make-out session depends on how advanced your relationship is and what you both feel comfortable with. My advice is to start out slow and above the waist and gradually work your way to the other, more intimate areas of the body. Good luck!

If you are getting ready to go out on a date and you hope to get some make out action, you need to prepare yourself! This means that you need to make sure your mouth is as clean and minty-fresh as possible! A clean and fresh mouth is a sexy turn on for most people, while a dirty, smelly mouth is not going to get you laid, no matter what!

Not everyone knows about proper dental hygiene, so I am going to cover it for you now. For years, I never knew the proper way to floss or why flossing was important. I finally went to a dentist that explained it to me and now my gums and teeth are in better shape than ever!

This isn’t meant to be a post all about tooth care, but as you are probably aware, kissing involves mouth to mouth contact and if your mouth had an unpleasant odor or taste it will be a huge turn-off to the other person. The fact that these mouth-care habits can contribute to your overall health is just a bonus!

The most basic and easiest thing that you can do while you are preparing for your date is to brush your teeth. I recommend using a toothpaste with a minty flavor, which will help your mouth smell better and taste better. You should try to brush for at least 2 minutes, making sure you get all your teeth from all sides possible. You should also brush your tongue. Be careful about how far back you go on your tongue, as you could trigger your gag reflex. Experiment with it a few times and you should soon learn what your limit is.

In addition to brushing, you should use dental floss. This will help get rid of any food particles that might be stuck in your teeth and will help your gums to not be irritated and swollen. You take a small length of floss and gently move it in between each tooth, going down one side all the way to the gum line. Then take it back up half way and then down the other side of the part of the gum that separates the two teeth. So while you go in between the two teeth, you have an up and down motion that gets the front of one tooth and the back side of the next tooth. If you haven’t been flossing regularly you may notice some bleeding. This is normal and it wil go away after you floss regularly for a week or so. You should also notice your gums feel better and are less sensitive.

You should floss before brushing, as it loosens up food particles that you can then brush away.

The last part of the “make out mouth care” routine, is to use a good flavored mouth-wash. Sip a small amount into your mouth and swish it around. Get it around and through all your teeth and flick your tongue around a bit. This will help clean out the toothpaste as well as the “gunk” that you cleaned off your teeth. It will make your mouth smell and taste better, which will increase your chances of a good kissing session.

You can’t underestimate the effect of good oral hygiene has on your chances of making out. If your breath and mouth smell nasty, nobody is going to want to kiss you. But if your mouth smells minty-fresh and tastes it too, your partner is much more likely to kiss you and make out for a longer period of time. It will be a much more enjoyable experience for both of you!

Chances are, if you are at this site then you haven’t had much luck with the opposite sex. You are unsure of how to act, what to do and when to do it. Well, we are here to help! Before we get into anything too fancy we need to cover the basics, so this post will assume that you know nothing and go from there. This is an awkward subject for some people to discuss, but at this site, I will always try to describe things in a clinical way, while using some slang to try to get my point across. This is a “no judgment zone” here, so feel free to ask anything in the comments section. Remember, on this site you are anonymous!

The term “making out” is generally used to mean the act of kissing (usually for long periods of time and with some intensity). We’re not talking about light kisses on the cheek here, we mean full-on tongue kissing! Often hugging and some form of caressing or rubbing is added into the mix too.

Making out can be very satisfying all by itself, but it is often just the starting point for couples. The act of making out and fondling each other tends to intensify over time and as the sexual excitement builds up, sexual intercourse often occurs after a good make out session.

So, how exactly do you make out? Well, it usually begins with a light kiss, the kind where your lips are puckered up and you don’t make contact for very long. After a series of these (maybe about 3 or 4), you progress to an open mouth kiss. You might not want to use your tongue right away thought, you should ease into it slowly. A good make out session can’t feel rushed and you shouldn’t be in any big hurry. Take your time and ease into it slowly. It’s often hard to remember this because you are so excited and nervous, but nothing will kill the mood faster than shoving your tongue into your partners mouth before he or she is ready!

After 2 or 3 open mouthed kisses, lightly and gently flick your tongue into their mouth. You’re doing this partly to test the waters to see how your partner reacts. If they respond to your tongue in a positive way (by using their tongue too) then they have given you the green light to continue. If they back off and don’t engage your tongue, you may want to slow down and maybe even stop kissing and ask them if they are OK with what’s going on.

If your partner has met your tongue with his or hers, then you are good to go! Just keep kissing! Move your head from side to side (slowly!) and most of all, have fun!
