Good dental hygiene is important for making out!If you are getting ready to go out on a date and you hope to get some make out action, you need to prepare yourself!  This means that you need to make sure your mouth is as clean and minty-fresh as possible!  A clean and fresh mouth is a sexy turn on for most people, while a dirty, smelly mouth is not going to get you laid, no matter what!

Not everyone knows about proper dental hygiene, so I am going to cover it for you now.  For years, I never knew the proper way to floss or why flossing was important.  I finally went to a dentist that explained it to me and now my gums and teeth are in better shape than ever!

This isn’t meant to be a post all about tooth care, but as you are probably aware, kissing involves mouth to mouth contact and if your mouth had an unpleasant odor or taste it will be a huge turn-off to the other person.  The fact that these mouth-care habits can contribute to your overall health is just a bonus!

The most basic and easiest thing that you can do while you are preparing for your date is to brush your teeth.  I recommend using a toothpaste with a minty flavor, which will help your mouth smell better and taste better.  You should try to brush for at least 2 minutes, making sure you get all your teeth from all sides possible.  You should also brush your tongue.  Be careful about how far back you go on your tongue, as you could trigger your gag reflex.  Experiment with it a few times and you should soon learn what your limit is.

In addition to brushing, you should use dental floss.  This will help get rid of any food particles that might be stuck in your teeth and will help your gums to not be irritated and swollen.  You take a small length of floss and gently move it in between each tooth, going down one side all the way to the gum line.  Then take it back up half way and then down the other side of the part of the gum that separates the two teeth.  So while you go in between the two teeth, you have an up and down motion that gets the front of one tooth and the back side of the next tooth.  If you haven’t been flossing regularly you may notice some bleeding.  This is normal and it wil go away after you floss regularly for a week or so.  You should also notice your gums feel better and are less sensitive.

You should floss before brushing, as it loosens up food particles that you can then brush away.

The last part of the “make out mouth care” routine, is to use a good flavored mouth-wash.  Sip a small amount into your mouth and swish it around.  Get it around and through all your teeth and flick your tongue around a bit.  This will help clean out the toothpaste as well as the “gunk” that you cleaned off your teeth.  It will make your mouth smell and taste better, which will increase your chances of a good kissing session.

You can’t underestimate the effect of good oral hygiene has on your chances of making out.  If your breath and mouth smell nasty, nobody is going to want to kiss you.  But if your mouth smells minty-fresh and tastes it too, your partner is much more likely to kiss you and make out for a longer period of time.  It will be a much more enjoyable experience for both of you!
